SUCK ON THAT

Last Friday I hit a new grocery market and my immune system went nuts. I looked like a boiled lobster with braids. Thankfully, I recovered quick.

Up next, we had cupboard ants. I placed everything on folding tables and waited for the queen to die. I struggled to put the kitchen back together. I farted around, wasn't focused and then it hit me, I hate those upper cupboards.

Hate. Them.

So I put my kitchen back together without using the cabinets above the oven and hot dog, those suckers are next on my demo list. Suck on that.

PS: I made ice cream.

  9. Two years ago I had pantry moths. I think I would have rather had ants. Did get rid of them but it took a while and a lot of cleaning. AND I didn't get any ice cream:-(

    1. Oh my gosh, I've had pantry moths, they were in my tea and they took forever to get rid of. This was years ago before I moved here but I still remember them. Horrible.

I'll teleport you some ice cream. What kind do you fancy?

Did the new grocery store have different brands? I'm wondering why your immune system went nuts.
I've never had ants inside, although outside is a whole other story. Millions of the little so-and-so's.

    1. What kind did she make?

I'm sick, River. I have immune system issues. Not fun, but manageable (for the most part).

Little so-and-sos, I like that term.

    2. Something with chocolate and caramel and far too much heavy cream, she found a recipe on the internet. It was awful stuff. She's gone back to store bought ice cream.

  16. Funny, we just had (still slightly have) ants in our kitchen. We bought the little round ant trap things and some liquid ant killer. The frustrating thing is waiting for them to take it back home to their colony and to share it so they all die. I just want to kill them all as soon as I see them. Nice ice cream (not tempted...not tempted...) -Jenn

    1. Waiting for the queen and her servants to die, yes. I share your want for them to die on the spot.

Are you able to eat fruit? If so, I left the ingredients up on the first comment. But any combo works and I sometimes toss in veggies, too.

    1. Hey Dezzy. I have a weak immune system. Getting stronger though and mostly manageable. Recovery times quicker too.

    2. yes, but what role does new grocery market play in it? Just being in the crowd of people, or the groceries there were bad? I bought me some huge radishes today at the green market for a weekend detox :)

    3. Sometimes I know what is it, like when I go into a movie house (allergic to the corn in the air), and other times (like the new market), I can't pinepoint what triggers the autoimmune response.

What are you detoxing from? Do you eat the radish greens, too?

  18. We get ants every spring, but there is ventilated wire shelving in the pantry so they can't take up residence there. Thank goodness!

Soon you're going to be down to three cabinets in your kitchen, each holding six items :-)

    1. Do you mean the wire plastic/metal shelving? Not sure if that's what you mean but very cool that they cannot take up residence there. Hot dog.

Truthfully, the cupboards were coming down either way. They're too high for me and moreso, I don't need the extra space. Heaven I tell you, heaven.

Glad you got the birdies out of that hole. I'm still amazed at how they were giving you smack. Did you see that story on the little girl that fed the crows (I think they were not sure?), and they would bring her gifts?

      Amazing.

I've made the ice cream with honey and it's just as good as it is with the maple syrup. Just frozen fruit, honey or maple and blitz. So easy.

      Happy weekend.

Kitchen demo is coming up but not for awhile. Still working on Tim's new room. Today, I mudded the top of the drywall to the ceiling.

  26. I see a lot of people have trouble with ants in their cupboards. I would suggest watching to see what they are getting in to and maybe removing that product. Also shine a torch in there to see if you can find the entry spot and block it off with some scrunched tight tinfoil, usually they can't get through that.

    1. Thanks, River. These buggers weren't on any food. When we redo the kitchen we plan on closing up things better. For the mice too. This kitchen isn't big enough for them and me.

Neat on the tinfoil I adea. I have one spot in the wall that I cannot mend just yet but I could scrunch some in there. Thanks.
