Cupcakes & Coupons

This is what my coupon station looks like.  I'm home today clipping, sorting and prepping for my next trip.  The available ingredient and whole food coupons are getting less and less.  The emphasis being on industrial ding ding meals.

Which bugs me.  But I'm in it for the win, so I'll just have to work smarter at the savings game.  Meanwhile, I'm enjoying a homemade pumpkin spiced latte, Cupcake Wars, and clipping coupons.

For tonight's supper, marylands baked with whole cloves of local organic garlic (beyond killer good), and a side of wholemeal pasta with basil, garlic and fresh Parmesan.

Simple and delish.

Dessert, a small sampling of salted caramel popcorn.  Made too much last night and woke with a sugar hangover.

That's about all from me.  What's for supper on your end?

  1. Looks great!
    What time is dinner?
And we use only organic garlic cloves as well.

    1. About 5:30 ish. We have plenty. Bring the wife.

Good to hear about the garlic. For us, it's gotta be local, organic and good. Not interested in crappy shit garlic.

    2. As you're talking about garlic - we have a lot of garlic imported from China. Absolutely rubbish. Looks like garlic, but tastes like ... god knows what.

    3. Rubbish is what it is. I won't buy it. I'd go without before I spent money on such a horrible ingredient.

When we get our house, I'll be back to my herb garden and garlic will be grown like mad.

    1. New oven smell. That doesn't sound as good as it should.

  3. Sounds like a great day! I love your space. And hanging out there with pumpkin spiced latte? Homemade, too? Doesn't get any better. Yummy! My older daughter is a HUGE fan of pumpkin spiced latte. She enjoys some at Starbucks this time of year. I told her to make her own and save the $65,000 (give or take a few bucks) that Starbucks (over) charges for their coffees. Hehehe....

    1. I agree, they do overcharge. It's crazy.

We go to Barnes (which serves Starbucks), and this past weekend I got my first hot pumpkin latte of the season.

But at home, I totally gotta make them, because I want to save that $65,000 to put toward a house with a big ass herb garden.

By the way, loved your post today.

    1. Thanks. Tim bought it for my against my will. I didn't want to spend the money but he was right, it's a kick ass station. He uses it for his gaming stuff too. Really nice.

    1. I am not sure, Dezzy. We don't have TV so I'm not up on who is still running or not.

I watched Cupcake Wars on YouTube. It's not the best show, they talk soooooo much. So I use it for when I am doing something like coupons because I sometimes I learn little bits and bobs that are useful.

You might be able to find it on YouTube, if you want to give it a go.

    1. Once I put all the coupons away and the station is cleared, it's very easy for me to pile it back up again. But I'm working on NOT doing that.

    1. A chicken leg and thigh, still connected. It was one of the first meat things I ever made in my life, after being a veghead.

      Delish.

How goes your new flat? Did you get those other two pieces of furniture you needed?
